Dee Callum’s Impact on the Cosmetology Field

There couldn’t be a more fitting scholarship for our Cosmo students than the Dee Callum Memorial Scholarship. Dee was a graduate from FCTC and spent over 30 years assuring her clients felt beautiful. When she opened her own salon, Dee’s Hair Design in 1990, people “entered her shop a client and left a friend”, said her friend Shirley Jordan. Dee passed away in 2013 and her friends, family and clients started a scholarship in her honor. Dee’s identical twin Debbie has assured this scholarship has continued benefitting so many students that exemplify Dee’s passion.

Kirsten Rice is one of those students. Kirsten graduated in 2016. Today she is a microblader, skin specialist and hair stylist at The Bardot.Com a one-stop shop for beauty maintenance. The Bardot is created, owned and operated by Britnye Shore, also a FCTC Cosmo grad. You can visit The Bardot at 72 South Dixie Highway in St. Augustine.
