Congratulations Shakeria for receiving Altrusa International’s District 3 Joey Robison Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students. The qualifications for this scholarship include being out of high school for six or more years and attending a college or technical school. Life changes, education desires, financial needs and change of career contribute to pre-requisites for this scholarship.
Shakeria is a graduate of FCTC’s 2012 Medical Assisting program and is now enrolled in Practical Nursing. She told us “when I heard 2020 was going to be the year of the nurse; this is not what I expected, but through it all I will succeed.”
Thank you Altrusa for supporting Shakeria as she embarks on a Practical Nursing career. The FCTC Education Foundation is so appreciative of local organizations like Altrusa who provide scholarships that help our neighbors attain their career dreams.
